Apply a Strategic Performance Management Framework - a systematic assessment of a company's assets and capabilities, its marketplace position, and its financial performance.
- The Framework
would start by addressing the three types of strategy (Incremental,
Renovative, and Inventive) and the associated marketplace leadership
issues. Each strategy raises distinct marketplace and performance
concerns.
- Continue with
an examination of current and projected key operating processes. How do
these processes enable or hinder the three marketplace strategies? Zero
in on the types of assets (both internal and external) that the
organization possesses. How are these assets linked to operating
processes? What asset configurations for each type of strategy would
most strongly support marketplace and financial results?
- Now
look at how these assets, processes, and strategies can be collectively
managed to improve marketplace performance. Systematically compare how
different approaches to managing these linkages would affect cash flow
and other broad financial indicators.
- Conclude
by taking a step back to look at the human side of these issues. What
are the implications of managing these linkages for leaders within the
organization? Are leaders ready and do they have the skills required to
lead an implementation?
